Electrical Supervisor

Overview

In this role, you will lead electrical installation activities on a major new-build project, ensuring safe, compliant delivery to high standards. You’ll work closely with design and site teams to coordinate electrical systems and resolve issues that impact progress. The position focuses on site leadership, safety, and quality to keep the project on schedule for completion in 2028. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the execution of critical electrical works on a high-profile prison project.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical subcontractors on site to ensure safe, compliant delivery
• Oversee installation of electrical systems including containment, cabling, lighting, LV distribution, fire alarms, security, and specialist prison systems
• Perform quality inspections using Dalux on iPad and log results
• Attend daily site briefings and coordination meetings
• Conduct regular safety inspections, toolbox talks, and site briefings
• Ensure operatives use PPE and follow safe systems of work
• Review drawings, specifications, and BIM models to ensure accurate installation
• Identify and resolve technical issues with design and site teams
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and performance, driving improvements
• Assist with deliveries and material logistics coordination
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and CDM requirements
• Support testing and commissioning to ensure systems operate correctly
• Assist in compiling handover, O&M manuals, and close-out information
• Maintain accurate site records (inspections, progress reports, QA)
• Coordinate with mechanical trades for integrated services
• Champion a strong safety culture and RAMS adherence
• Deliver a right-first-time quality approach
• Ensure work complies with HSE and project regulations

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• SMSTS or SSSTS
• ECS/CSCS Card
• First Aid (desirable)

• Strong leadership

• Knowledge of electrical building services systems
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors
• Experience with digital QA systems (Dalux or similar)
