Health & Safety Manager Cambridgeshire £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits
Most H&S Managers inherit someone else’s system and spend years trying to improve it round the edges.
This one’s a blank page. New role. Reporting straight into the Senior Leadership Team. You decide what “good” looks like here, not audit to someone else’s standard.
The food manufacturer behind this role is growing fast, and their H&S function hasn’t kept pace. That’s your opening: build the strategy, not patch the gaps. This will be a great opportunity for someone that wants to join a brilliant team of great people that are building something.
You’ll own PUWER, COSHH, RIDDOR and DSEAR compliance, but the real job is culture. Getting managers to lead safety with confidence instead of ticking a box. Getting near-miss reporting up because people actually trust what happens when they report something. Making audits boring because the site’s always ready, not scrambling.
What you’ll bring:
- H&S experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Chartered IOSH — nice to have, not a dealbreaker
What you’re walking into:
- A role that doesn’t exist yet — you write the brief
- A seat at the top table, not a report line ten deep
- £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits, DOE
