Artistic Youth Worker

Overview

As an Artistic Youth Worker you will use drama, art and movement to support learning and emotional development in pupils with complex needs. You’ll work 1:1 and in groups, collaborating with teachers to deliver personalised plans in a calm, inclusive setting. In this role you help pupils express themselves, build confidence and regulate emotions through creative approaches. This position offers training, ongoing support and a chance to make a meaningful impact in SEND education.

Responsibilities

• Support students’ emotional and educational development through creative strategies
• Use drama, music, art or movement to aid communication and engagement
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Help pupils regulate emotions and participate meaningfully in daily routines

Key requirements

• Experience or qualifications in arts, drama, creative therapies, or related field
• Experience with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH
• Adaptable, empathetic and confident in dynamic environments
• Brings creativity and care to interactions
• Committed to wellbeing and inclusion in education
