Real Estate Disputes Associate

Overview

In this role, you will join a leading Real Estate Dispute Resolution team handling high-quality, complex property disputes. You will support a broad client base, delivering matters from instruction to resolution while managing budgets and timelines. The position offers exposure to a wide range of contentious property issues and opportunities to contribute to business development and client care. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers to maintain high service standards in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of contentious property matters (commercial landlord/tenant, rents, covenants, forfeiture, etc.)
• Handle real property disputes (restrictive covenants, adverse possession, rights of way, boundary disputes, rights to light, telecoms)
• Involvement in development, overage, and insolvency-related property work
• Guide matters from instruction through to resolution within time and budget
• Maintain accurate case management data
• Contribute to business development (e-newsletters, seminars)
• Deliver high standard of client care to generate repeat instructions

Key requirements

• 2+ PQE in contentious property matters, or solid litigation with property bias
• Good understanding of key legislation governing commercial tenancies, including Landlord and Tenant Acts
• Strong drafting skills with attention to detail
• Clear, accessible communication
• Collaborative, commercially minded team player
• Strong client care skills
• Interest in business development is desirable
