Technical Account Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the technical delivery of MEP services within critical environments, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operation. You will work closely with the engineering team to supervise specialist vendors and drive service excellence while optimizing costs. You will own reporting, risk and compliance, and contribute to business development within the contract. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with client-facing accountability in a high-stakes setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team to achieve contract outcomes including MEP work and vendor management
• Operate and supervise building systems (HV/LV) and propose improvements
• Ensure compliance with regulations and contractual SLAs, change management and vendor plans
• Manage CMMS tasks for preventive, reactive and corrective maintenance; track performance
• Prepare and present engineering reports, risk registers and asset reliability analyses
• Oversee competency, training needs, and succession planning for the engineering team
• Coordinate critical incident reporting and after-action reviews
• Ensure maintenance aligns with OEM/SFG20 standards and communicates updates to the client
• Take part in client meetings and contribute to monthly/quarterly reporting and financial performance
• Escalate and manage specialist vendor performance and support on-call emergency responses
• Identify and develop opportunities within the account to improve service delivery and efficiency

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Critical Environments (e.g., Banking HQ, Data Centres)
• HV/LV Authorised Person or ability to obtain sign-off
• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (or apprenticeship completed)
• C&G Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation
• IOSH Managing Safely (or NEBOSH equivalent)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to lead a small engineering team and manage client expectations
• ILM3/5 or similar
• Strong IT and report-writing skills
• Willingness to undertake MEP asset training including HV/LV authorisation
