Client-Side Construction Project Manager

Overview

In this role you drive delivery of built-environment projects within the Investment Projects Team at BAE Systems. You will guide projects through the RIBA-aligned lifecycle, translate client needs, and secure design and specification approvals while safeguarding quality and safety. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage contractors on site, and ensure compliance with CDM and building controls. The position focuses on delivering new buildings, refurbishments, and major infrastructure upgrades for secure industrial environments. Responsibilities

• Guide projects through the RIBA Plan of Work stages to ensure quality delivery
• Interpret customer requirements, support design development, implement plans, and secure specification approvals
• Contribute to robust financial business cases for projects
• Procure and coordinate with multi-disciplinary consultant teams for new buildings, refurbishments, and upgrades
• Coordinate onsite contractor activities safely and ensure installations meet health and safety, building control, and CDM requirements

Key requirements

• Degree or HNC/D in Construction, Building Services, or related built environment disciplines
• PM qualification (APM) or equivalent experience
• Experience with construction, manufacturing plant, and equipment installations
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary contractor activities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
• Ability to coach contractors to comply with CDM regulations
