Senior Research Analyst, Fuel oil

Overview

As a Researcher at Kpler, you will expand Europe-focused fuel oil and residue research, delivering rigorous market intelligence to clients. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape insights that support pre-sales and client engagement. Your work fuels reports, webinars, and external presentations, strengthening Kpler’s insights offering. This role combines in-depth market analysis with media outreach and collaboration across product and analytics teams to drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous market intelligence on fuel oil and feedstock markets with emphasis on WoS, plus some Middle East coverage
• Identify key trends and insights to feature in client reports
• Support pre-sales by articulating Kpler’s view
• Promote research across external stakeholders including media
• Identify and report on key developments within fuel oil markets and feedstocks for Insights
• Contribute to company webinars and external presentations
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to develop client offerings

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field
• 5+ years in refined products markets with focus on fuel oil (ideally with DPP exposure)
• Proficiency with secondary unit operations modelling and fuel oil fundamentals
• Experience producing independent market analysis and communicating insights to varied audiences
• Skilled at performing complex analyses across multiple datasets using advanced data analytics tools
