Civil Engineer

Overview

In this Civil Engineer role you contribute to water and wastewater projects that improve environments and communities. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver designs, reports, and specifications that meet programme, budget, and quality standards. You’ll focus on sustainable solutions, whole-life considerations, and effective client engagement. Responsibilities

• Prepare outline and detailed civil, hydraulic, and structural designs and calculations
• Produce technical and commercial specifications, design reports, and schedules
• Develop and annotate models and drawings
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to create efficient, safe solutions across design, construction, and operation
• Incorporate whole-life carbon and circular economy concepts into designs
• Conduct site and asset surveys to inform requirements
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Geotechnical and Structural designers to ensure on-programme delivery
• Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines
• Engage with clients and adopt a one-team approach to help them meet aims

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
• Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution
• Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
• Methodical problem-solving approach
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
