Overview

As part of Tesco’s Analytics Capabilities, you will design and build a shared mobile analytics library for native apps, enabling consistent analytics across products. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data tracking, improve data quality, and drive engineering efficiency. The role focuses on cross-platform mobile engineering, reusable SDKs, and reliable analytics implementations. This is a hands-on role that helps the business make faster, better data-driven decisions while shaping how analytics are adopted across Tesco mobile apps. Your work will be central to delivering scalable, privacy-conscious analytics capabilities and improving the customer understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain a shared native mobile analytics library (Kotlin for Android, Swift for iOS).
  • Create reusable, well-tested SDK components to standardise analytics across apps.
  • Collaborate with Android, iOS, Product, Data and Analytics teams to translate tracking needs into technical solutions.
  • Support analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics and Google Analytics 4 within mobile apps.
  • Define and follow a quality assurance process including unit/integration testing and event verification.
  • Document library usage, patterns, release processes, and troubleshooting guidance for developers.

Key requirements

  • Strong commercial experience building native mobile apps with Kotlin and Swift.
  • Experience designing reusable mobile libraries, SDKs, or shared components.
  • Solid understanding of mobile architecture, dependency management, release processes, versioning and backwards compatibility.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, performant code with automated testing and peer review.
  • Experience debugging, validating and troubleshooting analytics events across environments.
  • Clear communication with engineers, product managers, analysts and stakeholders to translate tracking needs into designs.
