Overview

In this Senior Lead Engineer role, you’ll help shape the Group’s Data & AI strategy by leading advanced engineering work on GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives. You’ll evaluate emerging AI approaches, build MVPs, and hand over scalable solutions for production use in a regulated environment. You’ll coach engineers, influence technology direction, and partner with cross-functional teams to unlock business value through AI innovations. Responsibilities

• Partner with business and platform teams to identify priority problems and AI adoption bottlenecks in regulated contexts
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies through applied research, experimentation, and rapid prototyping
• Lead engineering and delivery of MVPs addressing critical business challenges and enable scalable adoption
• Act as trusted technical advisor on GenAI and Agentic AI to engineering teams and stakeholders
• Coach and mentor engineers to adopt proven AI patterns and practices
• Influence business and technology strategy by showcasing feasible AI innovations

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering production-grade solutions in complex environments
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages with a track record of solving complex problems
• Deep applied AI/ML and Generative AI experience (RAG, tool use, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, AI agents)
• Experience designing, building, and operating AI solutions in regulated environments with focus on reliability, security, safety, explainability
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate ambiguity into technical direction, MVPs, and scalable solutions
• Proven ability to influence, coach, and mentor engineers while engaging senior stakeholders on technical direction and decisions
• Experience in regulated industries (financial services) and conducting or applying research in industry, academia, or equivalent environments
• Experience developing large-scale customer-facing technology solutions and influencing engineering standards across large organizations
