Senior Power Systems Engineer

Overview

In this role you will strengthen the power system analysis team in Bristol, delivering complex studies for a range of clients. You will work closely with clients, manage project delivery and mentor junior staff while applying your expertise in power systems. The role covers a broad set of studies, from loadflow to protection and stability assessments, contributing to the company’s consultancy-focused mission. This is a senior position with opportunities to shape technical directions and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• liaise with clients and manage project delivery
• support junior team members and provide technical guidance
• conduct power system studies and simulations across various domains
• perform loadflow, short-circuit, harmonics, voltage disturbance and G99 studies
• use power system analysis tools to model and assess networks
• contribute to technical proposals and client presentations

Key requirements

• MSc, MEng or equivalent
• 5+ years in electrical engineering design or analysis
• experience with DIgSILENT, PSS/E, ETAP, IPSA or similar
• experience in loadflow, short circuit, arc flash, voltage disturbance, harmonics, G99 and stability studies
• working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• confident in dealing with clients and supporting junior team members
