Overview

In this role you apply geotechnical expertise to challenging offshore wind projects, interpreting ground data and supporting design of fixed and floating foundations. You join a multidisciplinary team delivering robust, sustainable ground solutions for clients while developing your offshore wind experience. You’ll work closely with engineers across geotechnics, structures, and sustainability to achieve high-quality outcomes. The opportunity combines technical growth with client-facing collaboration in a growing market.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret ground investigation data and laboratory results to inform design
  • Support geotechnical design for fixed and floating offshore wind foundations
  • Contribute to robust, sustainable engineering solutions for clients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across geotechnics, structural, offshore, modelling and sustainability
  • Engage with clients to understand objectives and deliver outcomes
  • Develop technical skills and broaden offshore wind experience
  • Contribute to Arup’s growth in the offshore wind sector

Key requirements

  • Experience in geotechnical design for fixed and/or floating offshore wind foundations or relevant academic experience
  • Ability to interpret ground investigations, lab tests, including cyclic testing
  • Knowledge of offshore wind design codes, constitutive models, and model calibration
  • Experience or interest in numerical modelling software such as LS-DYNA or PLAXIS
  • Collaborative, adaptable, client-facing with multidisciplinary teams; Python coding advantageous
