Overview
In this role you will deliver geotechnical investigations, assessments and designs for major mining and rail projects in Australia. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and spend time on site, balancing technical analysis with field verification. You’ll support earthworks, foundations and slope stability work while building strong client relationships. Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations and field programs.
- Log and interpret geotechnical drill core and field data.
- Undertake geotechnical assessments for mining and heavy haul rail projects.
- Support the design of earthworks, embankments, rail formations, cuttings and foundations.
- Conduct slope stability, settlement, groundwater and earthworks assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
- Provide construction support and field verification services.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, rail, water and mining engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Build client relationships and contribute to project delivery excellence.
- Travel to remote mine sites and rail corridors across Western Australia as required.
Key requirements
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience delivering geotechnical projects within mining, resources or transport sectors.
- Experience with site investigations, drilling programs and field supervision.
- Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and interpretation techniques.
- Experience with earthworks, mining infrastructure, heavy haul rail or bulk materials projects is highly regarded.
- Strong technical report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on site and collaboratively within multidiscipline teams.
- Willingness to travel and spend time in the field supporting project delivery.
