Overview
As an Associate Financial Modelling Project Finance in London, you will support complex project finance deals across energy, infrastructure and renewables. You’ll build and validate financial models, review external models, and provide analytical input throughout the transaction life cycle. You’ll mentor junior colleagues and collaborate with credit teams and clients to tailor funding solutions. This role blends technical modelling with client interaction in a collaborative, growth‑oriented advisory environment.

Responsibilities
- Design and build intermediate to complex project and structured finance models for large-scale transactions
- Respond quickly to client or partner bank queries about financial models and ensure clarity in meetings
- Review models prepared by clients or others and apply stress testing with deal teams
- Support senior leadership in executing advisory mandates with detailed modelling insights
- Mentor and train junior team members to develop technical capabilities
- Coordinate cash flow analysis papers with credit colleagues to inform investment decisions
- Liaise with clients at peer level to address routine queries and maintain high service standards
- Build cross-department relationships to enable efficient information flow and cooperation
- Produce RORA calculations and swap line analyses at various stages of the transaction cycle
- Assist in preparing information memoranda and client presentations and support internal approvals
Key requirements
- Demonstrated commercial experience building sophisticated project finance models in banking, consultancy or related institutions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with model-building from scratch for large financing
- Experience managing end-to-end model builds with stakeholder engagement
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles in project finance contexts
- Excellent IT literacy with core systems used in structured finance
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for relationships at all levels
- Meticulous attention to detail under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
- Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience; accountancy/finance qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory
