Principal Architect, Solutions Architect – Client Solutions

Overview

As a Principal Architect within the IPCS team, you shape cloud-based architecture platforms and guide adoption of strategic global solutions. You work across lines of business and enterprise technology to translate client strategy into actionable infrastructure requirements and ensure secure, auditable, reusable patterns. You lead cross-functional advisory work, influence roadmaps, and help client teams migrate from legacy systems while managing platform and security changes. This role offers impact at scale through enterprise-grade AI-enabled design and governance.

Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to reach target state architecture
• Incorporate enterprise-approved AI capabilities into architecture analysis, roadmaps, and design with human-in-the-loop validation
• Contribute to multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy
• Serve as go-to SME and help develop technical methods per latest product development practices
• Establish reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain with traceability, resiliency, and security
• Act as trusted client-facing advisor to Lines of Business, focusing on CIB Markets and Securities Services
• Translate client strategies and needs into concrete infrastructure requirements and cross-domain solutions
• Provide broad consultative architecture to help clients adopt new products, migrate from legacy tech, and manage platform or cyber-security changes without disrupting apps

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification on architecture concepts
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Expertise in one or more programming languages
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, including cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.
• Experience applying enterprise-approved AI capabilities in architecture and engineering workflows with validation and data-sensitivity awareness
• Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into scalable, secure, auditable platforms
• Experience solving complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
• Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager
• Ability to present and communicate to senior leaders and executives
