Security Engineer

Overview

In this Security Engineer role, you will implement and operate technical security controls to protect easyJet’s critical systems and services. You’ll work hands-on with security tooling and contribute to ongoing improvements of cyber capabilities in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You’ll support incident response, vulnerability remediation, and security investigations to keep our European airline resilient against threats. The position sits in the Technical Security team within Digital Safety, with hybrid work and a base at the Luton HQ. You’ll help protect information assets while aligning with the company’s mission to keep low-cost travel secure and accessible.

Responsibilities

• Implementing, configuring and maintaining operational security systems and technical security services
• Supporting the reliability and effectiveness of security tools and controls
• Assisting with vulnerability remediation and security control improvement activities
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and operational guidance
• Supporting security investigations and remediation activities alongside Security Operations and Incident Response teams
• Providing security-focused technical support and consultancy to Technology teams across the business
• Contributing to the development and delivery of the security engineering roadmap
• Keeping up to date with emerging cyber security threats, technologies and industry best practice

Key requirements

• Experience within a security engineering, technical security or IT operations environment
• Understanding of common security technologies and security control implementation
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work methodically and follow defined technical processes and standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across technical teams
• Experience with any of the following technologies would be beneficial: Microsoft Purview, Splunk SIEM, Zscaler, Microsoft Defender, Orca Security
