Overview

As a Senior Site Manager, you oversee complex projects from inception to completion within a reputable main contractor. You will lead site operations across multiple sectors, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery while coordinating with a visiting Contracts Manager. The role spans Cambridge, South Essex and North London, requiring travel and strong on-site leadership. You’ll shape on-site programmes, monitor progress, and drive cost-efficient execution aligned with tender strategies. This is a permanent, client-focused opportunity with substantial project exposure.

Pay / Benefits

• £50,000–£55,000 salary + package

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day on-site operations with safety and quality as priorities
• Coordinate weekly with visiting Contracts Manager
• Plan and communicate short-term site programmes to workforce and management
• Monitor progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure project delivery aligns with tender strategy and budget
• Maintain high-quality health & safety standards on site
• Oversee multi-sector projects with a value range of 1m–15m
• Travel across Cambridge, South Essex and North London to sites

Key requirements

• Proven track record as Senior Site Manager with reputable Main Contractor
• Experience delivering varied sector projects valued 1m–15m
• Strong on-site management, safety, and quality execution
• Ability to plan on-site activities and short-term programmes
• Effective progress monitoring and corrective action capability
• Cost-conscious site management aligned with tender strategy
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• Willingness to travel across Cambridge, South Essex and North London
