Project Director – Project Management

Overview

As Project Director, you will lead strategic delivery within our UK Infrastructure practice, driving growth in the Midlands and supporting national initiatives. You’ll steer major programmes, cultivate client relationships, and mentor diverse teams to deliver complex capital projects. Your role is to turn client challenges into tangible outcomes through leadership, strategic engagement, and value-driven delivery. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape programme success across sectors at a global advisory-first firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow client relationships in the Midlands and contribute to national initiatives
• Oversee delivery of commissions at strategic level with clients
• Lead and manage major programmes and projects and multi-disciplinary teams
• Participate in bids, pursue planning and client engagement to drive business generation
• Develop resourcing and growth strategies; contribute to board-level strategy and governance
• Support procurement, asset management or advisory activities as relevant to programme setup or improvement
• Ensure adherence to NEC3/4 contracts and governance requirements
• Engage with internal and client boards to set strategy and drive growth targets

Key requirements

• Proven leader of diverse teams across sectors such as rail, aviation, utilities, power, highways, local authorities
• Background in Project Management or engineering with capital programme delivery experience
• Experience leading major programmes and projects
• Experience in leading and managing teams
• Working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
• Demonstrable success in business development, bidding, networking and client engagement
• Ability to develop and grow client relationships at all organizational levels
• Desirable experience in procurement, asset management, or advisory related to programmes
