Overview

In this role you will develop and deepen client relationships by delivering high-quality investment and financial planning advice to the mass affluent market. You will operate as an entrepreneurial professional, leveraging external networks to grow your practice within a supportive Scotiabank framework. You will drive investment sales and new client acquisition under a compliant framework, meeting clients where and when they prefer. Responsibilities

  • Execute business development plans to grow proprietary investment business in the mass affluent segment
  • Identify new opportunities and facilitate investment solutions or referrals
  • Deliver client-centric investment solutions through a financial planning framework aligned with sales principles
  • Perform outbound prospecting and needs analysis across financial statements
  • Engage with local professional networks and community events to expand the client base
  • Organize and participate in community information sessions and financial seminars
  • Build a market profile for the assigned district and manage budget for independent marketing activities
  • Collaborate with branches and Scotia Global Asset Management to enhance client experience

Key requirements

  • 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales
  • Mutual Funds Certified Professional
  • MFDA licensing accreditation and good standing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course)
  • Personal Financial Planning (PFP) designation and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
  • Strong networking, client acquisition, and relationship-building skills with COIs
  • Goal-oriented and entrepreneurial with ability to work independently and in a team
  • Knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, regulatory environment
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
