Category Manager – Indirect

Overview

In this role you drive strategic category leadership across Corporate Business Services, with a focus on Customer Contact Centres and Facilities Management. You partner with stakeholders to translate needs into procurement solutions, lead sourcing from market engagement to contract awards, and deliver commercial value. Hybrid work is offered, combining on-site and remote collaboration. You will shape category strategies and manage supplier performance to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies across Customer Contact Centres, Facilities Management and wider Corporate Business Services
• Lead sourcing and tendering activity, including RFPs and supplier negotiations, through to contract awards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture demand and align procurement with business objectives
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve service delivery and mitigate commercial risk
• Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement and innovation
• Deliver value across the procurement lifecycle from planning to contract and supplier management
• Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to inform strategy
• Promote procurement governance and commercial rigour across activities

Key requirements

• Experience in procurement or category management within Corporate Business Services
• Background in Customer Contact Centres, Facilities Management, BPO, Customer Services, Professional Services or similar indirect spend categories
• Strong sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract management capabilities
• Proven track record developing and implementing category strategies
• Ability to operate across strategic and tactical procurement activities
• Solid stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• CIPS/MCIPS qualified, or actively pursuing qualification
