In this role you will translate scientific data into clear medical communications for healthcare professionals and stakeholders. You will work within the Medical Education Communications team to support publications and ensure adherence to industry guidelines. You’ll conduct literature review, data checks, and adapt writing for diverse audiences while learning from senior editors. Responsibilities
- Synthesize scientific information and strategy for assigned projects
- Conduct literature reviews and data collation to broaden brand/market understanding
- Assimilate commercial context into publications under guidance
- Develop and structure various medical communications (manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, MSL material, advisory boards content)
- Annotate documents, perform data checks, and prepare reference packs
- Acquire therapy-area knowledge to meet communication objectives under supervision
- Tailor writing style to diverse audiences (HCPs, nurses, patients)
- Own assigned projects and ensure timely delivery
- Adhere to quality control processes (referencing, data checks, proofreading)
- Communicate therapy-area knowledge to the wider team
- Liaise with clients with support from senior team and respond to requests
- Participate in briefing, clarify timelines, and identify potential barriers early
- Prioritize workload and escalate issues to account lead(s)
- Contribute to editorial best practices and share knowledge with peers
- Support timely project progress reporting and status updates to the account team
- Immerse in medical communications, client contexts, and therapy areas
- Stay updated on developments and trends and reflect them in project work
- Engage in performance reviews and aim to meet objectives
- Deliver editorial outputs within project schedules, budgets, and briefs
- Clarify available hours and key dates for projects and keep stakeholders informed
- Complete timesheets and expense claims accurately
- Seek opportunities for professional development and client-focused collaboration
- Maintain professional presence with a sense of urgency and client service orientation
- Communicate effectively with managers when deadlines or issues arise
- Operate with energy in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Coordinate with Real HART hybrid working arrangements and office/on-site expectations
Key requirements
- Experience in medical writing, ideally in an agency setting
- Understanding of GPP and ICMJE compliance in publications
- Master’s (preferred) or PhD in a science subject
- Solid scientific background and ability to learn new therapeutic areas quickly
- Good understanding of the clinical trials process and data presentation in different phases
- Knowledge of key trial statistics and measurement scales (e.g., PFS, OS, RECIST)
- Ability to differentiate strong vs. weak data
- Detail-oriented with strong writing quality and appropriate scientific language usage
- Familiarity with editorial processes and new business terminology
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
- Independent yet collaborative with client-service orientation
- High energy and ability to work in a fast-growing environment
- Good command of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
