Overview

As Assistant Programme Manager in M.C. Dean’s Security & Electronic Systems, you support delivery of SES programmes across the EMEA region, bridging engineering and leadership. You own workstreams, monitor risks and schedule, and assist with financials and customer management. You will coordinate with engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget delivery and high-quality standards. This role develops into full Programme Manager responsibilities in a mission-focused, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Programme Manager daily, deputising as needed.
  • Own scope, tracking, and close-out of assigned workstreams and change orders.
  • Coordinate intake and escalate customer requests and site issues.
  • Track deliverables, manage risks, and drive mitigation actions.
  • Maintain risk register, change order log, and programme schedule.
  • Escalate and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to resolve delivery issues.
  • Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and variation pricing.
  • Prepare cost proposals and Greensheet estimates for changes.
  • Produce periodic project status and financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Support bi-annual Business Reviews with management and customers.
  • Interface with customers and internal stakeholders; lead or support meetings.
  • Coordinate with other PMs to ensure end-to-end programme execution.
  • Assist with resourcing, training, and workload management of the team.
  • Ensure documentation, playbooks, and workflows are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safety compliance and alignment with company policy; assist with close-out documentation and commissioning.

Key requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting or coordinating technical programmes or projects.
  • Experience in security systems, low-voltage, or critical facilities/data centres.
  • Knowledge of electronic security systems delivery (access control, video management, intrusion) is desirable.
  • Exposure to programme or project financial management (budgets, forecasting, cost proposals, change orders).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with customer-facing confidence.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and Excel-based trackers; Greensheet-style estimating tools.
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite at EMEA programme locations.
