Senior Data Analyst-(Re)Insurance- SQL, Power BI, Azure technologies

Overview

In this role you drive data-driven insights to support insurance and reinsurance placements. You’ll collaborate with brokers and clients to translate complex data into actionable guidance, building scalable data solutions and dashboards. You’ll own data quality and contribute to bespoke client models, staying current with new analytics technologies. This is a hands-on, impactfully analytical position in a collaborative team shaping client outcomes in a global market.

Responsibilities

• Partner with brokers and clients to understand data needs and provide insight-driven analysis for placements
• Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends in claims performance, loss ratios, and market dynamics
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure tools (including Azure Data Factory)
• Design and build dashboards and analytical tools to support strategic decision-making
• Lead data quality controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Contribute to bespoke client data models
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends
• Translate complex technical findings into clear insights for non-technical audiences

Key requirements

• Senior analytics, data analyst, or data engineering experience in insurance or reinsurance
• Experience with Underwriting Workbenches
• Strong data analysis and engineering skills: SQL, Python, Power BI, Advanced Excel
• Experience building and managing data pipelines
• Desirable: Azure ecosystem knowledge (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services)

• Excellent problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
