Overview

As Software Development Manager for the Data Center Builder Tools team, you lead a group building on-premise industrial automation software for mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will hire, coach, and align engineers to deliver scalable, high-performing applications that interact with large distributed systems. You partner with product managers and cross-functional teams to drive strategic roadmaps and operational excellence. You’ll shape the team’s long-term vision and enable growth through mentorship and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a software engineering team across levels, fostering growth and culture
• Set engineering standards and drive operational excellence with agile processes
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to peers, leaders, and stakeholders, advocating for outcomes with data and diplomacy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to break down complex challenges, estimate efforts, and plan roadmaps
• Lead sprint planning, design reviews, and service health, removing blockers and guiding execution
• Travel up to 20% to engage with customers and capture real-world requirements
• Own the delivery of scalable industrial automation software for data center operations across global infrastructure

Key requirements

• Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks lifecycle
• Experience in engineering team management
• Experience designing or architecting systems for reliability and scaling
• Experience communicating requirements and designs to users, technical teams, and senior leadership
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Travel up to 20%
• Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems (preferred)
• Experience with troubleshooting/debugging of hardware (preferred)
