Senior Data Analyst – Energy Sector

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join their remote team, supporting operations that span across various locations, including but not limited to Randburg . This role is integral to extracting actionable insights from complex datasets related to energy production, consumption, and market trends. You will develop dashboards, conduct deep-dive analyses, and present findings to stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge data technologies from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large, complex datasets related to the energy sector.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Develop and implement statistical models and algorithms to support forecasting and optimization.
• Communicate complex findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst , with a focus on the energy industry.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data analysis programming language (e.g., Python, R).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
