Gas Engineer

Overview

In this field-based role, you will maintain and service HVAC and gas-fired systems across multiple retail sites to ensure safe, compliant store environments. You will work across the M65 corridor and Chorley, travelling daily with a valid UK driving licence. You’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support continuous reliability while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to keep energy systems running at scale within a national retail client. You will be part of a operations team focused on uptime, safety, and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform PPM schedules and complete all required paperwork
• Respond to helpdesk call-outs, diagnose faults, and complete repairs within SLAs
• Service and maintain HVAC assets (air handling units, gas-fired heating, LPHW, DX coils) and related equipment
• Maintain heat pump systems and single split air conditioning; manage LPHW boilers, pumps, inverters, DHW boilers, and water chillers
• Identify non-repairable faults and recommend replacements to the Line Manager
• Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental policies at all times

Key requirements

• Recognised Commercial Gas qualifications – minimum of 4 from: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CDGA1, CCP1
• F-Gas (2079) certified
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel daily across the patch
• Proven experience working on HVAC/gas systems in a multi-site environment
