SHEQ Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead safety, environmental and quality initiatives across renewable energy projects in Glasgow. You will implement and monitor SHEQ frameworks to support grid-scale energy storage, solar and wind developments, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture. You will guide risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement and high standards across complex construction work. Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain SHEQ policies and management systems across renewable energy projects
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections and compliance reviews per health and safety legislation
• Provide SHEQ training, inductions and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors
• Support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards
• Monitor environmental and sustainability initiatives across BESS, solar and wind projects
• Prepare SHEQ reports and maintain records and performance data
• Collaborate with project teams to embed SHEQ requirements into planning and delivery

Key requirements

• Experience in a SHEQ, health and safety or quality management role within renewable energy, BESS or construction
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality regulations
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and accident investigation techniques
• Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems
• Excellent communication, training and influencing skills
• Proficiency in report writing, data analysis and quality documentation
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving abilities
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (desirable), NEBOSH Diploma-level knowledge advantageous
