Assistant Environmental Services Technician

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Environmental Services Technician to join a team based out of Washington. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving environmental standards across the city through street cleansing, grounds maintenance, litter removal, and winter maintenance activities. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to local communities.

Duties

• Carry out street cleansing duties, including emptying litter and dog waste bins and removing litter, waste, and fly-tipping.
• Undertake grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, pruning, and planting.
• Assist with winter maintenance duties, including snow clearing and gritting operations.
• Complete routine operational tasks using basic tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Work independently or as part of a team to achieve set standards of quality and productivity.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and respond appropriately to local circumstances and risks.
• Carry out pre-use checks on equipment and report any faults or defects promptly.
