Overview

In this role, you will support the equity derivatives and prime services businesses, focusing on the UK and EMEA regulatory landscape. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to craft and negotiate sophisticated legal documentation and to onboard institutional clients. You’ll navigate ISDA master agreements, collateral arrangements, and hedging structures within a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment. The role offers impact through shaping product offerings, regulatory compliance, and strategic client partnerships in a post‑Brexit context.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate ISDA master agreements, CSAs, master confirmations, and related documentation for equity derivatives and repo agreements
• Support onboarding of new clients and collaborate with global legal colleagues
• Provide regulatory analysis and guidance on MiFID, EMIR, SFTR and cross‑border licensing requirements
• Lead or participate in netting, enforceability, and jurisdictional reviews; train others
• Advise on regulatory changes and their impact on product offerings
• Prepare legal analyses for internal new product approvals and regulatory inquiries
• Instruct and manage external counsel; ensure internal templates and policies are current
• Support strategic growth initiatives and client onboarding efforts

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister (England and Wales)
• Right to work in the UK
• Extensive experience in a major law firm or in‑house in EMEs product areas
• Expertise in total return swaps and hedging within prime brokerage
• In‑depth knowledge of ISDA Master Agreements, collateral, equity derivative documentation, GMSLA/GMRA
• Experience with MiFID, EMIR and SFTR and related regulatory requirements
• Understanding of cross‑border licensing laws in EMEA
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills; ability to work under deadlines
