Principal Mechanical Engineer – Water & Wastewater AMP8

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical design efforts for water and wastewater projects, shaping resilient infrastructure across the UK. You’ll act as a design lead within multidisciplinary delivery teams, aligning technical solutions with client needs and regulatory standards. You’ll drive innovation and ensure safe, high-quality outcomes on complex conveyance and treatment assets. Responsibilities

• Lead design and advisory services for water and wastewater assets
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, electrical, ICA)
• Deliver technical outputs using digital design processes
• Ensure compliance with technical, safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Mentor and supervise team members and support their development
• Establish client and partner relationships on technical and commercial matters
• Capture and promote innovations and knowledge across projects
• Support the MEICA team’s capability and achievements

Key requirements

• Significant experience with delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably water/wastewater
• Experience on design and construct projects using digital design platforms
• Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM)
