Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Field Based – East Midlands
Salary: £45,000 per annum + Door to Door Pay + Overtime and Enhancements – OTE of c£65,000 per annum + Company Car
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm + Optional Overtime – no weekend work or night shifts.
Bolt Technical are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global FMCG business, for a hands‑on Field Service Engineer to join its growing field service engineering team of 30 in the UK.
You’ll play a key role in delivering technical excellence and ensuring that equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction are consistently upheld.
Enjoy a Monday–Friday working pattern with regionally focused assignments, meaning minimal nights away from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging machinery.
- Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably at all times.
- Provide on‑site support and technical expertise to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of service, maintenance, and repairs.
- Work autonomously across a regional customer base while collaborating with the wider technical team.
What They’re Looking For:
- Qualified multi‑skilled engineer with experience in the FMCG or food production sectors
- Electro‑mechanical background (apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control systems
- Experience with PLCs and Ladder Logic is advantageous
- Excellent problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Full, valid UK driving licence required
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused, ‘can-do’ attitude
