Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support Turbine Island design within the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables. You will apply systems engineering and contribute to optioneering and integration tasks that connect the Turbine Island to the wider power plant. The position offers growth, hands-on design development, and a path in a highly regulated, safety-focused environment with ongoing training and internal advancement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplier deliverables meet requirements
• Develop and check design documents with Senior Engineers
• Assist in design development activities and optioneering studies
• Apply Systems Engineering principles
• Integrate Turbine Island design into wider power plant infrastructure
• Engage with stakeholders and attend design reviews
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality management

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 2:1
• Senior engineering experience in offshore, renewables, nuclear or other highly regulated industries
• Solid mechanical and structural engineering background
• Proficient with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia)
• MathCAD experience
• Experience producing technical reports (design/substantiation, assembly procedures)
• Knowledge of welding, machining, etc.
• Experience from Concept to Manufacture in the engineering design cycle
• Familiarity with Eurocode 3 and DNV
