Overview

Full-time Consultant in Adult Critical Care at NUH NHS Trust, contributing to high-quality patient care while engaging in teaching, administration and service development. Role includes formal critical care rotations across QMC and NCH campuses, with a mentor option and a flexible mix of clinical and non-clinical duties. Responsibilities

• Clinical management of patients under their care across surgical and medical emergencies
• Provide comprehensive elective and emergency services with colleagues
• Cover for leave and sickness to ensure department functionality
• Participate in clinical governance activities (audits, incident reporting, risk management)
• Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Contribute to research and CPD activities
• Support mentoring and junior staff development
• Potentially take on additional roles outside the Trust with agreement

Key requirements

• Full GMC registration
• CCT in Intensive Care Medicine (or equivalent) or within 6 months of CCT at interview
• Valid trauma life support certification or recent major trauma centre experience
• Post-graduate qualifications in ICM (e.g., FFICM, EDIC)
• Demonstrable 18+ months in Adult Critical Care with contemporary experience
• Able to work across QMC and City campuses
• Ability to participate in on-call duties as specified
• Clinical governance, teaching and research involvement
