Overview

As Senior Credit Analyst you will own the credit coverage for banks and/or insurance issuers within L&G Asset Management. You’ll deliver rigorous fundamental research, assess ESG and regulatory risks, and form investment views across the capital structure to support fixed income decisions. You will monitor macro, regulatory and industry developments and maintain forward-looking models and stress tests. You’ll communicate your credit views to portfolio managers and committees, contributing to research process improvements and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Own credit coverage for a designated list of banks and/or insurance companies
  • Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis of business models, finances, capital adequacy, liquidity, asset quality and management strategy
  • Monitor regulatory, macroeconomic and industry developments and assess their impact on issuer creditworthiness
  • Maintain financial models, forecasts and stress-testing frameworks for forward-looking credit analysis
  • Identify and track investment opportunities across issuers, sectors and the capital structure
  • Produce research notes, credit opinions and investment recommendations for portfolio managers and stakeholders
  • Present credit views and sector insights to portfolio managers and investment committees
  • Support Global Research and Engagement Group (GREG) outputs and address ad hoc credit requests and process improvements

Key requirements

  • Credit research experience in banks and/or insurance companies
  • Buy-side, sell-side or credit rating agency background; buy-side portfolio-facing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Financial Institutions, regulation, capital structures and key credits
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop independent credit views and explain them clearly
  • Strong awareness of financial markets and macroeconomic trends
