Overview

In this role you lead commercial and service development for an established independent healthcare provider. You will work closely with the owner and senior stakeholders to grow capacity, optimise clinical services, and create new revenue streams. You’ll analyse profitability, build business cases, and mobilise new services from concept to launch. The position combines hands‑on healthcare operations with strategic commercial focus, emphasising cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management. This is an impact role with a clear growth and expansion mandate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial and operational models for clinical services
  • Analyse profitability, utilisation, costs, and revenue; provide commercial insight for growth decisions
  • Produce business cases, forecasts, and performance reports
  • Monitor service performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Increase utilisation of existing clinical capacity
  • Build relationships with clinicians, referrers, insurers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Establish viable partnership and practice models
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in private healthcare
  • Identify NHS procurement opportunities and support tenders and contracts
  • Lead implementation of approved initiatives with project plans and cross‑functional coordination
  • Monitor post‑launch performance and implement corrective actions
  • Evaluate opportunities for new healthcare service lines; conduct market, pricing, and demand analysis
  • Develop ROI models, staffing requirements, and growth projections for new services
  • Support development of innovative private healthcare offerings

Key requirements

  • Operational leadership within healthcare
  • Experience mobilising or growing healthcare services
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding (business cases, forecasting, cost analysis)
  • Experience in regulated healthcare settings
  • Understanding of clinical operations, utilisation, workforce planning, and capacity
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building
