Overview

As a Senior C++ Software Engineer at Cboe Europe, you will help design and deliver high-performance, low-latency trading systems that power one of Europe’s largest equities markets. You will own features end-to-end and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust tech solutions. You will mentor peers, influence architecture, and support production in real time. This role offers impact across trading environments and a chance to shape the edge for market participants.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and extend high-performance C++ functionality across five Equities Trading Environments
• Build performant systems with a focus on quality, testability and production readiness
• Own features end-to-end, coordinating with engineers and business stakeholders from design to delivery
• Mentor other software engineers and act as subject matter expert for one or more systems
• Take part in interviewing and evaluating software engineer candidates
• Provide technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex production issues
• Provide support outside of normal working hours as needed

Key requirements

• Significant experience with modern C++ (C++11+, C++20 a plus)
• Track record of owning features/projects from design to production
• Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers
• Proactive mindset with strong communication skills across stakeholders
• Experience developing for Linux environments
