Requirements Management Systems Engineer

Overview

In this role, you define and maintain the requirements that shape Electro-Optic (EO) systems within the MIMAS Transition Phase Engineering Team. You translate stakeholder needs into robust system and subsystem requirements to enable design, integration, verification and validation across the lifecycle. You establish a traceable requirements baseline to support confident engineering decisions and delivery. You join a cross‑functional team focused on EO systems innovation and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and manage stakeholder requirements to ensure clarity, traceability, and alignment with programme objectives
• Develop and maintain EO system and subsystem requirements across the lifecycle
• Use requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) to manage baselines, traceability, and changes
• Support functional architecture development and allocation of requirements to system elements
• Support interface definition and management with clear, traceable interfaces
• Contribute to V&V planning through development of testable requirements
• Develop non-functional requirements (safety, security, manufacturability, supportability)
• Communicate progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to keep requirements aligned with design and programme needs
• Scope and plan requirements activities and governance artefacts (e.g., RM Plans)

Key requirements

• Experience in requirements management and engineering in complex engineering environments
• Proven ability to analyse and manage stakeholder requirements
• Experience developing system and subsystem requirements
• Strong grasp of good requirements practice: quality, traceability, verification, change management
• Experience using requirements management tools (IBM DOORS or equivalent)
• Understanding relationships between requirements, architecture, interfaces, and verification/validation
• Experience developing non-functional requirements (safety, security, manufacturing, supportability)
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
