Director, Project Controls – Infrastructure

Overview

In this Director-level role, you lead end-to-end project controls on major infrastructure programmes, ensuring delivery within time and cost targets and quality standards. You’ll guide multi-function control teams and engage senior stakeholders to improve performance. You’ll shape PMO and technical services delivery, aligning with client objectives and programme goals. This is a chance to influence complex projects across rail, aviation, power, water, highways or defence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end project controls for large, complex mega projects.
• Apply performance management using KPIs to enhance project outcomes.
• Lead and manage multiple project controls functions (risk, schedule, cost, scope and change).
• Influence senior stakeholders to boost performance.
• Serve as the main client-facing interface to ensure objectives, time, cost and quality targets are met.
• Support development and implementation of the PMO project controls service within technical delivery.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Align project controls delivery with appointment conditions and client objectives.

Key requirements

• Relevant technical degree and management qualifications
• Experience in project control roles for development and/or delivery of construction projects
• Experience in planning & scheduling, cost management
• Experience in risk management, change control information management and reporting on complex projects
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
