Project Planner

Overview

In this role you will drive the planning and controls for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects within METLEN’s Renewables division. You will develop and maintain schedules across EPC phases, perform risk analyses, and deliver portfolio-level reporting. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and cost controllers to align time, cost, and resources, ensuring on-time project delivery. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6 across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
• Establish baselines, perform critical path and float analysis, and validate schedules
• Run scenario and what-if analyses to assess risks and mitigation options with stakeholders
• Lead project controls activities across multiple projects, including progress tracking, forecasting, and portfolio reporting
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports with narratives, KPIs, S-curves, milestones, and dashboards for internal and client reporting
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Cost Controllers to align programme, cost, and resource planning
• Review and integrate subcontractor schedules and WBS into the master programme
• Monitor performance against baselines, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to hit key milestones (e.g., Energisation and COD)
• Support tender and contract award phases with high-level and detailed schedules and bid evaluations
• Maintain structured records of schedule updates and impacts for traceability and audit readiness
• Assist in resource planning and optimization to support delivery targets

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
• 2+ years in project planning or project controls in construction or energy infrastructure
• Strong MS Project experience; Primavera P6 is advantageous
• Experience in schedule validation, scenario analysis, and progress reporting
• Understanding of EPC lifecycle and construction sequencing
• Experience creating S-curves, dashboards, and performance reports (Excel / MS Project / P6)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
• Experience in utility-scale renewable projects (Solar PV, BESS) is preferred
