Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor in a reputable East London main contractor, you will oversee commercial delivery across multiple London-area projects, from residential new build to refurbishment and education/office work. You’ll work with a client-focused, value-driven approach, supported by planning and effective communication. You’ll handle cost control and procurement across diverse schemes, contributing to sustainable, high-quality outcomes. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to influence projects from site to handover.

Responsibilities

• manage commercial aspects on multiple projects for new build and refurbishment works
• control costs, procure subcontractors, and manage procurement processes
• conduct cost planning and valuation activities with accuracy
• monitor progress, risks, and variations to protect client value
• visit sites across London and Home Counties and liaise with site teams
• work autonomously across diverse projects and sectors
• support client-focused delivery and early trust through effective communication

Key requirements

• track record with a reputable Main Contractor
• experience on new build and refurbishment projects up to 5m in value
• multi-sector project experience preferred
• excellent commercial skills and cost awareness
• ability to manage multiple projects autonomously
• willingness to commute to East London and visit sites
