Overview

As a UX / Product Research & Strategy Lead at Citi, you will shape the overall experience direction for Citi’s HR applications. You’ll own the research programme that underpins product vision, collaborating with product, design and leadership to translate insights into a clear strategy. You will run diverse research to understand users, markets and the competitive landscape, and present findings to inform roadmaps. This is a cross-functional, strategic role with real impact on how employees interact with Citi’s HR tools.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the experience north star with product, design, and business leadership
  • Develop experience strategy translating research, market intel, and business goals into actionable direction
  • Align senior stakeholders around the experience vision via workshops and strategy sessions
  • Establish and lead an ongoing research and discovery programme informing the north star
  • Conduct diverse research (interviews, co-creation, journey mapping, usability, tests, surveys) and deliver actionable results
  • Design and execute studies using best practices and methodologies
  • Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders and broader organisation
  • Collaborate and share insights across the organisation
  • Mentor researchers and designers to scale capabilities
  • Define metrics for benchmarking journeys and integrate qualitative with quantitative data
  • Explore innovative primary research approaches and recruit challenging populations
  • Understand Citi infrastructure/projects and implement timely, impactful solutions
  • Work with UX Designers to ensure sufficient detail for UX designs
  • Stay current with UX practices and tools and support new UX starters
  • Participate in the wider UX community of practice

Key requirements

  • Significant UX research experience with leadership or strategic scope
  • Hands-on qualitative and quantitative UX research across the design thinking stages
  • Proven ability to translate research into strategic recommendations influencing direction or roadmaps
  • Experience facilitating senior stakeholder workshops and strategy sessions
  • Ability to lead in-person and remote UX research workshops
  • Self-starter who defines goals and research programmes with limited direction
  • Balanced strategic thinking with pragmatism and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication, including presenting to senior leadership
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, product managers, and engineers
  • Familiarity with research tools: UserZoom, UserTesting.com, Dovetail, EnjoyHQ, Qualtrics
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and at least one formal UX qualification
