Electrical Site Engineer

Overview

In this role you will supervise on-site electrical installations and coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely delivery. You will support testing, commissioning preparation, and final handover, while maintaining quality records and aligning with HSE standards. You contribute to the energy transition by driving reliable electrical execution within the MRES-ET development team. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position at a global industrial company focused on sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical subcontractors during LV/MV installation work (cables, panels, switchgear, transformers, inverters)
• Verify cable routing, terminations, earthing, bonding, and segregation per technical standards
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules, SLDs, and installation details
• Support testing, insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and commissioning preparation
• Coordinate electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams for efficient site execution
• Monitor subcontractor productivity, progress, risks, delays, and mitigation actions
• Maintain quality records, testing documentation, and corrective action tracking
• Support energisation, pre-commissioning, and final handover activities
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, electrical safety procedures, PPE, and safe systems of work
• Support process standardisation, transaction efficiency improvements, and governance/risk management policies

Key requirements

• 3+ years supervising and coordinating electrical installation works within construction and renewable energy projects
• Experience in subcontractor management, commissioning support, and site execution
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems (cabling, terminations, switchgear, transformers, inverters, earthing)
• Familiarity with electrical installation, QA/QC processes, and testing procedures
• Understanding of IET Wiring Regulations, G99/G100 standards, and industry compliance
• Ability to interpret cable schedules, technical drawings, and electrical documentation
• Experience coordinating electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams in fast-paced site environments
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills under site pressure
• Detail-oriented with proactive approach and commitment to quality, safety, RAMS, and project delivery
