Chartered Building Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will provide professional building surveying advice to key clients and manage projects from inception to completion. You will prepare specifications and administer JCT contracts while supporting business development and mentoring junior surveyors. You will build strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of the London Building Surveying team. This is a chance to apply MRICS training across commercial, retail and education portfolios and shape project outcomes at a prestigious practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional building surveying advice to key clients
• Manage projects from inception to completion
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documents
• Administer JCT contracts
• Conduct condition surveys and defect analysis
• Deliver dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments
• Provide party wall consultancy
• Develop project briefs with clients and senior colleagues
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Support business development and win new instructions
• Assist with project financial management
• Mentor and support junior surveyors

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification with Building Surveying background
• Experience in professional building surveying
• Experience across commercial, retail or education property
• Confident client-facing and project management skills
• Experience with JCT contract administration
• Technically strong, commercially aware, good communicator
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• NBS Chorus experience advantageous but not essential
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
