Overview
As UX Design Director, you will shape the strategic vision and execution of interaction design across Accenture Song, driving craft quality and human-centered design at scale. You will lead with systems thinking, align design strategy with business goals, and elevate experience coherence across multi-disciplinary teams. This role offers opportunities to influence executive-level decisions, advance design governance, and mentor senior designers. You will help build a world-class design organization and contribute to the studio’s external thought leadership.

Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a bold long-range vision for interaction design aligned with organizational strategy
- Position design as a strategic business driver and articulate ROI to executives
- Establish a research-led design culture and serve as executive sponsor for resources and tooling
- Own and evolve design standards, frameworks, and systems for quality across products/services
- Lead organizational design for the UX function, including team structure and operating model
- Manage end-to-end design delivery across multiple programmes with governance processes
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to co-define roadmaps
- Serve as executive design lead in client relationships and contribute to strategic workshops
- Represent Accenture Song as a thought leader and cultivate external networks
- Set up a talent pipeline, mentoring, succession planning, and inclusive team culture
- Drive adoption of modern methods and emerging design practices
- Translate design strategy into narratives for boards and senior stakeholders
Key requirements
- 12+ years of progressive industry experience, including 6+ years in senior design leadership or people management
- Experience owning and evolving a UX or interaction design practice at an organisational level
- Track record of developing design managers, not just individual contributors
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design, HCI, or related field; advanced degree advantageous
- Ability to align design strategy with business goals and communicate ROI to leadership
- Experience operating within a global, matrixed organisation across markets
