Overview
As Lead Capital Actuary, you drive development, maintenance and use of the group’s regulatory capital model components to support capital submissions, business planning and internal model usage. You own model modules, guide the capital modelling team, and ensure robust governance and Solvency II compliance. You translate model outputs into actionable insights for planning, risk appetite and underwriting decisions. This role offers impact across regulatory reporting, model enhancement and cross-functional collaboration within Beazley.
Responsibilities
- Own and govern modules of the internal capital model, including methodology, implementation, documentation and controls
- Oversee and review work of team members, providing guidance and challenge on model areas
- Produce and validate model outputs for regulatory capital calculations and submissions (SCR and related analyses)
- Support regulatory capital submissions, validation reporting and regulatory responses
- Contribute to internal model change, validation activities and enhancements
- Utilize capital model outputs to support business planning, risk appetite and ad-hoc underwriting decisions
- Collaborate across the capital modelling team and assist on other model areas as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, documentation standards and Solvency II requirements
- Develop understanding of business/risk profile to enhance capital analysis quality
- Drive continuous improvement in modelling, validation and reporting processes
- Ensure adherence to Beazley policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
