Overview
In this role you will own and drive the new business pipeline from prospecting to award, shaping the division’s growth in a dynamic market. You will nurture senior client relationships and coordinate cross-functional bids and proposals to secure profitable contracts. You’ll help define the division’s commercial strategy and value proposition while aligning with senior leadership on targets and performance. This is a hands-on, client-facing leadership role that links business development with market strategy and delivery readiness.

Responsibilities
- Own and drive the new business pipeline through all sales stages
- Identify and target prospective clients using contacts, outreach, and market intelligence
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, asset managers, main contractors, project managers, and procurement leads
- Lead tender submissions, commercial proposals, and presentations with QS and technical teams
- Represent the business at industry events to raise profile and generate introductions
- Monitor market developments and maintain an active leads database
- Negotiate terms and close contracts with margins and risk considerations
- Shape the division’s commercial strategy, pricing, and service offering as it scales
- Provide market feedback to inform product development, supply chain decisions, and capability investment
- Define and refine the division’s value proposition and go-to-market materials
- Set revenue targets, track pipeline metrics, and report on commercial performance
- Collaborate with in-house QS and cost planning to structure bids
- Coordinate with design/technical teams to ensure deliverable proposals
- Work with procurement on lead times, capacity, and product availability to support credible promises
- Ensure smooth handover from award to delivery with clear client expectations and contractual commitments
