Senior BMS Engineer – London

Overview

In this role you will design and specify building management systems for complex, energy-efficient buildings. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to translate MEP designs into control strategies, documents, and drawings, and lead client-facing technical discussions. You’ll review proposals, conduct surveys, and support commissioning, tests, and project delivery across international projects. Responsibilities

• Produce control system points lists and sequences of operation
• Create specifications and drawings (plan drawings, schematics, network topology)
• Draft early-stage client reports and review contractor proposals for design compliance
• Carry out condition surveys and produce improvement reports
• Represent the company at technical meetings with clients and project teams
• Specify and attend Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and Integrated Systems Tests
• Support commissioning activities during construction and project completion
• Contribute to project delivery from PM, QA/QC, and technical review perspectives
• Ensure adherence to relevant British/European standards and health & safety guidelines
• Travel to service international projects as required

Key requirements

• HNC/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent
• MCIBSE/MIEE/IMechE/MIET
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status
• 5+ years’ senior engineer experience in BMS/BEMS consulting
• Experience with building automation, instrumentation and monitoring systems
• Knowledge of networks, hardware, cabling, and network security
• Ability to maintain clear records and reports
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and in a team
• Familiarity with major BMS vendors and current technologies
• Experience with MS Office and project documentation standards
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and relevant codes
• Background in consulting or construction
