Defensibility & Regulatory Consultant (Casualty and Employment)

Overview

In this role you will advise senior leaders and defend clients against legal action by applying your litigation and regulatory expertise in casualty and employment contexts. You’ll upskill Marsh clients, deliver training and mock proceedings, and help translate insights into practical risk-management actions. The position blends non-contentious advisory with market-facing work to grow our Defensibility & Regulatory offering. You’ll work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and have the opportunity to shape clients’ resilience to regulatory and legal challenges.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on legal responsibilities and liabilities to defend the business
• Review client practices and stress-test defensibility against legal action
• Deliver training to leaders and stakeholders, including Mock Trials/Mock Tribunals
• Prepare leaders to act as witnesses in court or tribunals
• Collaborate with Risk Consulting on simulated crisis management exercises to provide legal context
• Develop client relationships to market services and generate additional revenue
• Coordinate with Marsh colleagues to deepen understanding of the legal landscape
• Self-manage diary and projects to balance client work and delivery

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister in England, Wales, Scotland or Republic of Ireland
• Experience bringing/defending personal injury claims (Casualty)
• Experience defending Health & Safety Prosecutions (Casualty)
• Experience bringing/defending employment claims and providing non-contentious employment advice (Employment)
• Comfort presenting to large groups and answering technical questions
