Responsibilities
- Maintain thesite yard, compound and storage areasin a clean, safe and organised condition.
- Receive, check, unload andstore materials, tools and equipment.
- Load and prepareplant, materials and equipmentfor delivery to site.
- Assist with theloading and unloading of delivery vehicles, ensuring materials are secured correctly.
- Move materials, tools and equipment around the yard and site as required.
- Keep accurate records ofmaterials, equipment and deliveries.
- Carry out basic checks ofplant, tools and equipmentand report defects or damage.
- Ensure equipment isclean, stored correctly and ready for use.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for civils and highways works.
- Support site teams withgeneral labouring dutieswhen required.
- Assist with housekeeping, waste removal and maintaining clear access routes.
- Ensure pedestrian and vehicle routes within the yard are kept safe and unobstructed.
- Follow siteRAMS, permits, traffic management arrangements and safety procedures.
- Assist with segregation ofplant, vehicles, materials and pedestrianswithin the compound.
- Report damaged materials, unsafe conditions, spillages or defective equipment to the Site Supervisor.
- Assist withdelivery and collection of plant and equipment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are returned to the correct storage areas after use.
- Support the wider civils/highways team withad-hoc duties as directed by the Site Supervisor/Foreman.
- Maintain high standards ofhealth, safety and environmental complianceat all times. Workers are expected to have the appropriate skills, knowledge, training and experience for their tasks and follow site rules
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a construction environment with familiarity in materials handling and shipping & receiving procedures
- Valid CSCS Card
- CPCS Telehandler
- Strong understanding of systems for tracking inventory and shipments
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely repeatedly throughout the shift
- Comfortable working outdoors or in warehouse conditions with physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual tasks
