Mechanical Engineer

Overview

As a Systems Engineer, you will apply mechanical engineering expertise to support rail-focused projects from concept to implementation. You will produce and review technical documentation and ensure designs meet safety and performance standards. The role involves risk evaluation, investigations into failures, and close collaboration with customers and internal teams to progress engineering projects. You’ll work on bogie-related components and wheelset systems in a production environment, contributing to reliable, safe rail solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide system engineering knowledge and skills
• Produce and check technical documentation (ti, ECOs, reports, calculations, data sheets, PQs, TQs, work instructions)
• Review technical drawings, EBoMs, TI’s and other mechanical documentation
• Conduct risk evaluation and mitigation for product safety hazards
• Lead/root cause investigations into failures and present findings
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders on project progress and issues

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering (bogies/wheelsets)
• Experience in specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of mechanical systems and components
• Experience with Mechanical CAD system (preferable)
• Experience in a production/shop floor environment
